In this newsletter, we have compiled the latest happenings in the Watershare community. Current topics, new members and upcoming events are all at your fingertips. Please feel free to contact Lisa Andrews, Watershare Engagement Manager, if you have any news, you would like to share in future Watershare community newsletters.
‘In the coming year, our members will still face significant challenges in managing the water cycle and the pandemic impact. We need to interact, learn and help each other. As Watershare, we will join forces to offer adequate support in lab resources and technologies, share relevant methodologies and collaborate in joint projects’- Lydia Vamvakeridou-Lyroudia. |

Strategic Meeting – June 2020 |
Over the two-day Strategic Meeting held on June 29-30, 2020, a group of 36 members (our biggest gathering to date!) came together to share, exchange and co-create ideas, projects and future possibilities together.
We welcomed 9 new members who introduced their work and expertise and shared what they can bring to the community and what they expect to find.
As a group, we defined the values and main opportunities:
- Share knowledge, expertise and resources
- Collaborate on innovation opportunities and implementation
- Build the community
- Engage the members (internal)
- Increase the international visibility and exposure of Watershare (external)
More specifically, members recognised that we can create added value for both research and society through joint research on COVID-19. By capitalising on the current momentum across countries, Watershare can deliver solutions (protocols, methodologies, research data and exchange of expertise) for COVID-19 and virus control in general. |
